Man and His Van are manly removals and storage men
Forgive the ambiguity but Man and His Van certainly are Manly Removalists. Our removalist men are physically fit and able to cope with the rigours of daily furniture removals; furthermore, all of us either live in Manly or nearby on the Northern Beaches.
All the Man and His Van storage depots are located close to Manly so for a genuine local moving company that offers the full service of furniture removals both local and interstate, storage, removalist boxes and packing materials, then call Man and His Van here in Manly Warringah on 02-9971 2140.
Everyone in the area is familiar with Man and His Van. Early each morning our moving trucks are all either heading South on Condamine Street or Northerly on Pittwater Road. However, we have not always had eight removalists vans and numerous storage depots here on the Northern Beachers. In 1992 Man and His Van started with just one moving truck and we operated out of a back bedroom in a Boyle Street Fairlight apartment. Our apologies to the neighbours as at one stage we had four removal vans parked in the local area.
Looking back, it was a blessing in disguise when Manly Council threatened to close the company down unless we moved to a business premises. A special thank you to Manly Council rangers- they were the catalyst for our successful venture into Brookvale real estate.
In 1994 Man and his Van purchased the first storage property. This commercial premises, located at unit 6 91-93 Old Pittwater Road Brookvale, is still the head quarters of the whole Man and His Van operation. As a means of funding the commercial property Man and his Van started the Northern Beaches Storage business. The first furniture store was quickly filled and we soon required a second property. The furniture warehouse at South Creek Road Dee Why was the second storage depot purchased by Man and His Van. To date, we own and operate five storage properties here on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
Man and his Van started removals in Manly at just the right time. In 1993 the recession was ending and local real estate was starting to boom. Additionally a strong economy, both locally and internationally, saw big movements in expats entering the Manly area. A typical removal for Man and His Van was moving an expat company executive, out of rental accommodation in Mosman, into a home they had purchased in the Manly, Balgowlah or Seaforth areas. The rental accommodation was often very exclusive and was usually provided, free of charge, by their company. After a certain time the executive would have to leave the “Garden of Eden” and sort out their own living arrangements. They were usually shocked at the prices around Clifton Gardens and Balmoral and the only places they could afford were this side of the Spit Bridge.
The Manly area was the ideal destination. It was (in those days) affordable, the Jet Cat to the City made a pleasurable start to a working day and the Kids were happy being by the beach and associated surf clubs.
Manly executives were also moving abroad, particularly the UK, Asia and the USA. Man and His Van would often move whole households of furniture into storage as all accommodation and furniture was provided for the Australians abroad. This was long term storage. To this day we still have large consignments in our stores from the early 1990’s belonging to expat Manly executive, still doing very well abroad. May they continue to prosper!
Man and His Van sure is a Manly Removals Company. We live in the area and we are part of the local community. Our men are always delighted to move local Manly residents.
